The dark era of Andhra colonialism in Telangana is nearing its conclusion. The aspirations of millions of citizens of Telangana will soon find expression in a separate state where they will be able breathe free and determine their own destiny. A new Spring of hope is in the offing, a Spring where they will be able to remedy the disastrous effects of fifty years of exploitation, suppression of their culture, linguistic chauvinism and the rape of their land and resources by coastal Andhra.

There is something supremely ironic about Andhra seeking to usurp the capital city, land and resources of Telangana using the fig leaf of a “common language”, and then displaying utter contempt for the very Telangana language that was the basis of this perverse, forced union. It is a testament to the spirit of the people of Telangana that they have withstood this vicious onslaught for over fifty years, and have continued their fight for dignity, honor, self-respect and a chance to be masters in their own house.

There are those would seek to belittle the sacrifices made along the road to the goal of the re-emergence of Telangana, those that would seek to perpetuate the colonial rule by Andhra in the name of a false unity and those that would stoke fears of a future for the new state that may be less than utopian. The struggle to reach this point has been long and it has been arduous. But, the struggle has been relentless. Let it be known that the people of Tenagana do not seek to build a Utopia. They do not seek to be the Perfect State, merely a state in which they are free to live with honor with their rights, culture, language and resources being accorded the appropriate level of respect and justice.

There are even those that describe legitimate aspirations of the people of Telangana as being little more than the demands of self-seeking power brokers and disaffected students. These naysayers are on the wrong side of history. The movement for a separate Telangana movement is too deeply rooted in history and righteous indignation to be just a plaything of corrupt politicians or wayward students. They are merely the outlets, giving vent to the people’s deep desire to end the long nightmare of political and social iniquity.

It is not within the realm of possibility for every laborer, every farmer and every worker in Telangana to individually articulate the yearning for equitable justice in a state of his own. This is why they have no choice to but to use the tools of representative democracy, a system structured so that the demands of the people can be voiced in a meaningful manner. If the system has been twisted and corrupted by unscrupulous politicians, that is an issue to be addressed within the overall framework of society, not a cause to block the advance to statehood for Telangana. The political tools in place now are the ones India has chosen for better or worse, and these are the means that will have to be used to achieve the chosen end.

Then there are those that would prejudice outsiders against the Telangana movement by alleging that it has been corrupted by the presence of criminal elements within it. The latest canard in this regard is that the peaceful assembly of thousands expressing their solidarity with this cause will include criminals and anti-social elements. Peaceful assembly in support of a cause is a basic right in any functioning democracy. Given the scale of the movement, it would be humanly impossible to completely control the composition of an assemblage of thousands.

The pattern of opposition this cause, then, is clear. There will be no end to the attempts to denigrate, discredit and misrepresent this struggle in every way possible. It is up to every last citizen of Telangana to ensure that he or she rises above these petty criticisms and pushes forward to the ultimate goal. This surge must, it absolutely must, be conducted in a completely peaceful and law-abiding manner.

The long and honored social and political tradition in India of peaceful resistance to oppression places a heavy burden on the people of Telangana. The onus is now on the movement to not indulge in any type of arson, violence or public disruption as this would be the perfect excuse for the oppressor to continue the current, illegitimate state-of-affairs. The promised destination will be reached, but the goal must be attained with calm dignity, in a respectful, civil and peaceful manner.

The English colonizers were brought to their knees in 1947 and relinquished their illegitimate hold on India, but not under the threat of violence. It was the sheer will of the people, channeled by peaceful means, that ultimately ejected the oppressor. Telangana will force its neo-colonizers to relinquish their grip on its people in a similar fashion. Telangana will soon be re-born in peace, and its people will live again with honor as full equals to their soon-to-be-former Andhra tormentors.

Telangana did not seek to exchange one imperial master, the Nizam of Hyderabad, for another set of rapacious overlords from Andhra. This was not the choice of the people then, and it has never been the choice of the people since. Telangana has been suppressed for half a century, but the voice of her people has never been silenced. And it will not be silenced, not now, not ever. We will not rest until we have a state we can call our own… The government of the socialist, secular, democratic Republic of India owes the people of Telangana nothing less than this.

This author says that if X amount of Development can be achieved in 5 years, X/5 Development could have been achieved by Telangana C.M's of 1 Year Term.
In that case,Does this author beleive that Rosaiah in this 4 Month Period could have achieved
X/15 Development admist all the chaos going on starting from collecting signatures besides Late YSR's Dead Body?

Most of MBS articles are unbiased and focused on the issue rather than imprinting his own methodologies on readers. But he has made some biased statements in the articles related to Telangana movement. He seems to be a strong supporter of united AP, nothing wrong with that but he could not avoid his own personal opinions stressed in few of the articles.
In his earlier articles regarding AP elections he disclosed he voted for Congress because YS is against Telangana.
