If there is going to be a lawsuit on TAMA, people need to think about who is behind both these lawsuits and who they are being targeted against. Looks like they are against a particular group. 2009 against TSR and now this.

Subject: Violation of Article VIII - Election of officers - TAMA
Dear past Presidents of TAMA,
I would like to share with you a serious violation of the bylaws during the election process for 2012. Some responsible officers, including majority of the Board members, don't take the violations seriously and are willing to condone the person who violated. An election committee member shouldn't give chance to any member or a contestant to complain about unfairness.
Please see below the contents of the email addressed to the election committee. The Chairman of the election committee, but not the violator, offered to resign taking moral responsibility. I respect the contributions of Segireddy garu to TAMA, but bylaws are to be respected. Otherwise, there will be no end to violations by other parties.
Meanwhile, names of the contestants were leaked and new candidates filed nominations. Simply, elections are tainted putting a doubt on the fairness of the process.
I am planning to take the legal channel to remove Segireddy garu and reopen the nomination process.
As a Life member or as the Chairman of the Board, I am left with no choice to protect the Integrity of TAMA, which we all care for.

Dear Chairman of the election committee for TAMA2012,
"Article VIII: ELECTION OF OFFICERS
The Officers of the Association shall be elected at a meeting of the Association on or before November 30 of every calendar year. The election will be conducted by the Election Committee appointed by the Board of Directors following the guidelines established by the Board.
Note: Only in 2010, Election Committee will be appointed by the Executive Committee.
The members of the Election Committee shall neither contest for any position nor nominate/second/endorse any candidate."
As per the article mentioned above, members of the election committee are not supposed to endorse any candidate.
Unfortunately, Sri Segireddy garu violated this article by endorsing 15 contesting candidates in a conference call held from 9.00-11.00 p.m. on Sunday, October 2nd. Names of the attendees and the minutes of the meeting are enclosed for your information. Other documentary is also available to support it.

I request Sri Segireddy garu to resign from the Election Committee with immediate effect to take moral responsibility for his actions and betraying the trust of TAMA members, who expected him to be a neutral and fair person during the election process.
I did warn him 10 days ago to excuse himself from the core committee(not a formal group authorized by TAMA bylaws) during the election process. He listened to the majority of the core committee, who were on the wrong side of the bylaws.
Mr. Surapaneni garu and you may induct a new third member or both of you may manage the remaining process in a fair manner.

Open letter to Chand Akkineni (Chairman of Board),
From the emails you have been sending to all past presidents, what I understood is you are specifically targeting Reddy community. I see that there are no Reddy candidates contesting for 2012 EC. In your internal meetings, we also heard that you were never in favor of any Reddy candidates. You went to court against the other team in 2009 using the CASTE lines. And this year is no different, and you are targeting the only Reddy serving on the TAMA Elections committee.
You are spreading lies to the Telugu Community and using your propaganda machine similar to 2009.
You have already split the Telugu Community in Atlanta across CASTE lines in 2009. You have boosted about TAMA 30 in private how you have done it better than the TAMA 25 which was led by a Reddy.
The question is why you have so much animosity towards other Castes and in particular towards Reddys.
What is your goal and what you want to achieve by pushing Reddys out of TAMA ?

Anand is a regular volunteer at all TAMA functions and community events in Atlanta
Anand was Chairman, Hospitality and Transportation Committee for the 30th TAMA celebrations. I, Seshagiri Mandava have experience in serving in the executive committees of various associations, fully dedicating my time and other resources. I had a good working relationship with the other office bearers and all decisions were taken on a consensus basis.
If elected as General Secretary, I promise to fulfill my responsibilities especially posting the minutes of the meetings of the Executive Committee on the TAMA website within 3 weeks of the meeting. I will also maintain the members list current and update it on the website on a quarterly basis. Have you ever seen the minutes of the meetings on the TAMA website? If I fail to keep my promise I will relinquish my position immediately and without anyone asking for. I would like to set a new trend in fulfilling the duties and enhancing transparency.
I have lived and studied in various parts of the world, learnt languages, interacted with people of various cultures, adapted to different life styles, but always have my roots deep in the Telugu Culture. I will strive to encourage membership in TAMA from all communities. I am presently working as a High School Math and A.P. Physics Teacher at Stockbridge High School. For the past 20 years I have been as a teacher at different levels. Of these 20 years I have spent 16 years in Hyderabad, India, teaching and supporting children with various activities and designing and managing the curriculum of the required classes. I worked in different environments and different levels in High Schools. One of my teaching schools was Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet - Hyderabad, India where I was teaching both science and mathematics. With a vast variety of exposure to educational institutions and working environments and having won the confidence of many parents in guiding their children to achieve great heights in their education and career, I think I am the suitable candidate for the position of Education Secretary in TAMA.

TAMA has made a significant contribution to my children in learning and understand about Telugu culture, during their formative years. The myriad of activities and events have interested both children and parents equally. They learnt about the Telugu cultural and literary areas and wish everyone benefit from ongoing TAMA activities and events. We have been Life Members for several years and have been a staunch supporter and served as a volunteer for many years for almost all events. I was also the co-chair of the Program Management Committee, for TAMA@30 celebrations and supported the event.
By upholding my core values of honesty, sincerity and fairness, I am confident that I would be able to bring about change to the TAMA leadership by directing and supporting long term plans for TAMA. Misuse of official positions by VP Suresh babu Peddi and Secretary Mahesh Pawar:
They and their comrades have access to members emails and phone numbers but not opposing contestants.
Mr. Pawar even threatened a contestant, whose number was not available, to withdraw from the contest.
Lavu, Jampala and Narra became life members in Oct 2008. How come they are qualified for Board members? Probably we can get that information from the then President Sreedevi.

Dear Members of TAMA,
I have been an active member of TAMA for the past two years. I helped TAMA to receive $11,000 sponsorships from my organization in 2010 and 2011. As the co-chair for the fundraising committee of TAMA@30, I raised more than 20k in other sponsorships; sold booths; brought advertisements and new members. The word “Maha Sambaralu” was my suggestion !!
Some self-designated “core committee” members feel that I am not eligible to contest in the election since I don’t belong to their elite group. As a genuine TAMA member and volunteer, I am contesting for the position of the General Secretary. TAMA belongs to everyone of us.
Please support Mrs. Nalini Chaganti, a qualified teacher first time in TAMA history willing to teach our kids, as the education secretary and also Sri Venkata Chaganti, who is a service oriented individual committed to serve TAMA as a Director.

I am a past President and a current director
that because of his presence in the contest, TAMA is going to incur costs in conducting elections;
Last year another candidate costed money for TAMA and received only a handful of votes
To deter people contesting, TAMA is going to charge a fee in future
The contestant seems to have replied -
If you want to avoid elections/costs, why did you send the election notice? You could have hand picked your team.
Are you trying to stop volunteers from contesting by putting financial entry barriers?
The contestant also want to know how you got his phone number.

Dear Mahesh garu,
Since the verification of membership is your responsibility, this email is addressed to you along with the Board, EC and Election Committee members.
We were not given the contact numbers of the members for requesting their votes. It appears, some "core committee" candidates are using the phone number lists given by 1-2 EC members. It is an unfair process.
According to our current bylaws, a person can become a new member only by paying by credit card or checkbook. We should have the copies of their checks or creditcard transactions. With Sunil Shavele's issue, this is a serious mattter. As the Secretary, you should have immediate access to this information.
I would request the Election committee to select 20 names randomly from the 2011 biennial membership data and seek their payment information - copies of the checks or creditcard transaction details without confidential information. This can be completed in 24 hours. It will prove the integrity of the membership process. If required, we can come to your house to see the documentation or you may send it to Election committee.

that you have to inform at least EC and Board that there is an event.
that you have to send an email little early requesting help so that people can keep some time
that at least you have to reply to emails if any member is requesting you about the event (even though you did not informed).
that you have to have a plan before doing any event (you could have missed last minute issues which you faced)
that you are lucky enough to find some volunteers from you players, which may not available all the time.
I am little concerned, when you cannot pull at least a single EC or Board member to full event, how can you run the big events next year being a cultural secretary..... :-(

I suggest you to please stay on the topic! If that person (Bala) is a "cry baby" like you mentioned in your last thread, he would have sent an email to the TAMA team directly. But he never did that. He was just suggesting (in a personal email to Mrs.Sandhya) that "WE" (Please underline this ..... this is not YOU or ME... this is "WE".. I guess that's enough to derive that he is a team player) need to eliminate such scenarios again! that's it!
What we are trying to accomplish here is a solution on how to eradicate such scenarios happening in future.
As per your suggestion on not get "these people"....... Would YOU be comfortable in doing MC?? (I guess everyone knows the answer)
We had to call him in tha last moment as the original set of MC's dropped in the last minute.... and i guess he had done well enough owing to a short notice.....
I re-iterate... the issue here is NOT about the MC... it's about how the MC was spoken to....... and how the other participants in the program felt as a result of this and I guess all the people in the backstage know what happened.
Anyways, My suggestion here is to try solve the "issue" rather than zeroing on a particular person.

We(2010EC) will be attending the scheduled meeting on Saturday. Please feel free to attend this meeting if you would like to get any clarification on to 2010 TAMA financials.
Also we (2010 EC) are appealing all the people who involved in this email chain to stop these emails until Saturday. After Saturday we have enough time to send these kind of emails and also you can update the Google blogs.

TAMA CD Funds mismatch and missing details about CDs
Please take a moment and understand the financial discrepancies in TAMA 2010 and 2011.
We, the life members of TAMA, who care about well being of TAMA are very concerned about the handling of finances for the past one year. There will be a board meeting of TAMA on 1/7/2012 to discuss the same irregularities. And, we want to make the attendees understand the gravity of the situation and prepare them with some pointed questions that they should direct at the TAMA EC and board. This is important because the board answers will determine the health of TAMA, which is paramount for the Telugu community of Atlanta. We don’t have faith in the board and EC to come forward and discuss the issues candidly. And, that’s why you need to ask the following questions.
1. What was the amount in CDs that was passed on to 2009 EC by 2008 EC? (Answer should be $126,968.69)
2. What was the amount in CDs that was passed on to 2010 EC by 2009 EC? (Answer should be $160,270.97)
3. What was the amount in CDs that was passed on to 2011 EC by 2010 EC? (Answer should be $169,405.97) Follow up question should be: What happened to life membership fees of $9135, that should actually been put in CD?
4. As per the TAMA financial statement of 2011, the income was shown as $236,446.00 and expenses as $201938.60, resulting in a profit of $34,508.40, which should have been added to the then existing CDs worth of $169,405.97. Simple math says the value of the CDs must be $203,913.97. Now the question should be what was the amount in CDs that was passed on to 2012 EC by 2011 EC? (Answer should be $203,913.97).
5. If the CDs were broken for any reason, was it approved by the GBM as required by the by-laws?
6. How could the audit committee declare the 2010 financial statement to be correct, if the numbers don’t match with the above answers?
7. How could Madhu Tata, President of 2010 EC and Board Director of 2011 engage his restaurant business with TAMA, a non-profitable organization? Is it not a conflict of interest and ethics?
The following is the CD information gathered from 2009 EC. Where is the transparency promised by the 2010 EC before they got elected if they would not even provide complete information of CDs?

Why do we see so much difference ($104,719.67) in CD accounts?

As a life member it is our right to know the details of these mismatching amounts. We should not accept any masked information from the EC 2010 and 2011. We should demand a financial statement from the bank with CD account numbers. It is those ECs responsibility to provide that information to every TAMA member.
Let us object these kinds of manipulations by some individuals who controls the organization for their own benefit. Let us boycott attending any TAMA functions or donations to TAMA until we get a clear answer from both the ECs of 2010 and 2011.

As per the TAMA accounts committee meeting 1/7/12, looks like Madhu anna may have to go to Jail if he swindles the TAMA CD money.

Why did TAMA EC and BOARD removed the financial link. First prove the reality of the accounts in CD's and then update by sending the CD numbers and amount to all the TAMA members. Is it called transparency? Probably Sunil and Suresh also involved in this scam.
Chand, please take this issue to the court if necessary or to IRS or state Govt. We want Sita Valluripalli in action on this issue. Hats off to Lavu for coming out openly and asking Madhu all kinds of questions.
