I have read the comments on this topic. Quite honestly, these insulting comments, the hatred for others, the intolerance of other communities, and the mean and bad behavior of some elements in TAMA are the reason why we have this issue now and we are discussing about parting ways. Intolerance and insulting. There is no place for this behavior in a civil society. I am least bothered about who wins and who leads TAMA, as long as we all respect each other.
We discussed in the last meeting if we might be better off separating from these quarrels, mass memberships, and manipulations. TAMA was started in 1981 when there were only a few families in Atlanta. Now Telugu population in Atlanta has soared to 7,000 families. Every major metropolitan in United States has two or more associations to address the issues facing Telugu communities. Instead of throwing mud and insults like we are scared and running away from a challenge, look at this as a necessity for a growing community. Why not we have a peaceful organization that focuses on our families, culture, and children without any dirty politics, elections, mass memberships, and out of state voting? Our main intention is to channel all negative energies in something constructive. We do not intend to limiting memberships to one community. Anybody is welcome. There will not be official positions like President and Vice President, instead we intend to have committees like Volunteer committee, Cultural committee, etc. There will not be elections, instead we will have a group of five or seven that would be part of such committees. Anyone who can invest his/her time is welcome in to these committees. No money involved (other than membership fee and donations), no elections, no egos, no control on the committees, no personal egos, no rumours. Plain and simple. It also helps the other side not to go overboard any more in what they are doing for the past two years.
Some people might be thinking that we are scared of elections. I would let them think what they want to. They are all entitled to their opinions. As far as me, what TAMA has encouraged in the past couple of years has been quite ridiculous. It's one thing for us to encourage all Telugu people to join TAMA but it's another thing for us to USE all Telugu people to win elections. Mass memberships - how can we find fault with Indian politics, when we, the educated do these things? It's quite ridiculous to expect better things from a population that is 90% illeterate. There is nothing wrong about walking away from human waste if we see it on the road. The decent people do not indulge in wrong activities. Even if they did for a couple of times, they can always refrain from repeating over and over. So, it's not because of the power we are after or the scare factor that we are trying to do this. Hope this makes it clear for decent people that are involved in this.
We are going to have another meeting 9/18 Sat at 3 PM in Sai Murali. Please do attend to make your voice heard. I invite you all, who have been vocal in the community to argue on either side.

I did not attend the meeting but I can tell the reasons behind starting second organization.
madhu has less control on TAMA. he is being managed by people who helped him ti win the last elections. If he is left alone he is a decent gentleman. He is pretty much like his prajarajyam party. he don't know who is working in his exective committee and who has left the executive committee. for example if he coordinates with website coordinator he won't let the belove mistakes happen.
mistake1: make the website yellow. people can justify and say it is just coincidence nothing to do with polictical party. let's goto the second mishtake.

mistake4: why ravi already said he can not continue next year? madhu's supporters already planned to bring a guy from k gang to put for next year president. that means no one from current committee is not ready is ravi don't want to become president?
whenever chaand involves in elections he does his best to win that team come to power but that team never stood upto the expectations. he went against ranga ravu and supported padma latha. what happened after that? phani and venkat left the committee. history repeats. he went against satyanarayana and supported madhu. this time alwal left the committee.
when there is election you can not expect community from all sides to represent tama functions. this could be due to many reasons. at least madhu should tell his committee to treat who ever attend should be treated well. but in GBM they have humiliated the people who want to talk neutral.
now the satyanarayana, tanuja and others have not only lost the elections but also not getting any importance and thought of having their own association. that is fine and we don't see any issue with that. if they really want they should come openly and declare their names. if people like satyanarayana, tanuja and gireesham want to start the association with the help of gowtham, karnayya that is fine and they should go ahead and start. why they have to pick a scapegoat like satya kirrnati. he is a big time fan of NTR and SVR. Also he married a non telugu girl who can hardly speak telugu. hardcore R's never become NTR fans and hard core K's will never become YSR fans. if the so called R gang have guts they should not put the innocent kirrnati upfront.

I do not belong to R or K.I am brahmin and my wife is vaishyas(Ours is love marriage) and we moved recently to Atlanta and have been attending all the TAMA functions including Pallekupodam and all the events are conducted in a well organised manner and I agree that Kids fest should have been more organised and hey they atleast did some thing exclusively for kids.The current EC is modest and patiently answered all the questions i had and also offered help as i moved recently and this is in contrast to Chicago I came from,I don't have caste feeling and am not interested in the caste politics and don't know the back ground of TAMA.But what I feel is why don't both sides sit together and sort out the differences after all we came so far from our mother land and why don't we be like brothers and sisters,Caste does not feed us.Good and bad people are in every caste.So guys please do not split and you won't gain any thing by that and you will loose the good will of common man like me.

All of a sudden I hear a lot of big talk about service to the community. May be the explanation will help me & other folks to better understand the need for another association.

1.People were fed up with TD rule for 10 years and wanted change and that brought in Congress to power in 04. The credit does not go to either DS or YS. YS because of his Padayatra became CM Candidate in congress.
2.YS could not bring congress to power in 99 as there was not enough anti govt vote. He even promised that he will quit politics and take sanyasam if congress did not come to power. Instead immediately after losing he craved for CLP post. Man who stands by his Word?
3. After being in power for 5 years CBN got 180 seats in 99 elections whereas YS after being in power for 5 years could scape through with only 150 seats(Inspite of anti gov vote split between PRP and Lok Satta). We can imagine his fate after 10 years of rule.
The common “R” or “K” does not bother whether YSR or CBN is in power or who takes charge of TAMA. It’s a few individuals who for their own power and selfish needs create a rift between the communities. They have attended TAMA functions in 08 as well as 09 irrespective of who is in power.

All “K”’s were in TANA-Why did they fight even though they all belong to one caste ?

Don’t fall for the cheap tricks of some of your selfish caste leaders who want to start a new organization and bring glory to your caste. They use your passions, sentiments and weakness for their own personal agenda. You are all educated and I hope you sincerely don’t fall to these tricks.
A group of “K”s and “R”s have been fighting among themselves for control of TAMA for the past 2 years and in the process the community benefitted at the leaders cost as they have to work harder and come up with Innovative programs.

1. we were not invited or consulted (EC members took pains to invite people from all sides to Bylaws workshops and other events; some of them were even felicitated; did you see the composition of Fashion show?)
2. We were not respected ( who will respect the people who closed bank accounts without new EC's knowledge knowledge; Adi got hit with credit card bill; centerstage payment of $5000 unaccounted; one of the election committee member's check got bounced)
3. There was a membership fraud (all the bylaws were presented, second meeting called, website updated, still there is time until september 30, whereas you didn't give time last year, everything is fair and transparent)
4. opponents are human waste ( this alone portrays gurava's arrogance and stupidity)
5. We will focus on Service and no elections ( service is a joke for power hungry; no elections was the mantra used by ATA to control grip on the organization)
Finally, 80% of the members don't care about one party or the other. They will come for their children's activities. The new organization has to explain to their children why they can't mix with other kids from 29 year old strong TAMA.
Dedicated volunteers like Venkat M, Bala I, Jagan m rao, Mangaraju V, shyam y, konda S are not going to fall for the traps of these new leaders.

I have read the comments on this topic. Quite honestly, these insulting comments, the hatred for others, the intolerance of other communities, and the mean and bad behavior of some elements in TAMA are the reason why we have this issue now and we are discussing about parting ways. Intolerance and insulting. There is no place for this behavior in a civil society. I am least bothered about who wins and who leads TAMA, as long as we all respect each other.
We discussed in the last meeting if we might be better off separating from these quarrels, mass memberships, and manipulations. TAMA was started in 1981 when there were only a few families in Atlanta. Now Telugu population in Atlanta has soared to 7,000 families. Every major metropolitan in United States has two or more associations to address the issues facing Telugu communities. Instead of throwing mud and insults like we are scared and running away from a challenge, look at this as a necessity for a growing community. Why not we have a peaceful organization that focuses on our families, culture, and children without any dirty politics, elections, mass memberships, and out of state voting? Our main intention is to channel all negative energies in something constructive. We do not intend to limiting memberships to one community. Anybody is welcome. There will not be official positions like President and Vice President, instead we intend to have committees like Volunteer committee, Cultural committee, etc. There will not be elections, instead we will have a group of five or seven that would be part of such committees. Anyone who can invest his/her time is welcome in to these committees. No money involved (other than membership fee and donations), no elections, no egos, no control on the committees, no personal egos, no rumours. Plain and simple. It also helps the other side not to go overboard any more in what they are doing for the past two years.
Some people might be thinking that we are scared of elections. I would let them think what they want to. They are all entitled to their opinions. As far as me, what TAMA has encouraged in the past couple of years has been quite ridiculous. It's one thing for us to encourage all Telugu people to join TAMA but it's another thing for us to USE all Telugu people to win elections. Mass memberships - how can we find fault with Indian politics, when we, the educated do these things? It's quite ridiculous to expect better things from a population that is 90% illeterate. There is nothing wrong about walking away from human waste if we see it on the road. The decent people do not indulge in wrong activities. Even if they did for a couple of times, they can always refrain from repeating over and over. So, it's not because of the power we are after or the scare factor that we are trying to do this. Hope this makes it clear for decent people that are involved in this.

Gurava was asking for opinions about the new association. Just because they don't agree with Gurava, doesn't mean they are cursing him.

K gang is like CBN. CBN puts so many schemes in election manifesto but did not complete all. he put NTR 2 rs kg rice and got into power and cancelled after the election. though CBN said he will give free rice this time no one believed. people trust only once. he has to sit total 10 years in opposition.
2010 Tama EC punch line is "vignanam vinodam or education and entertainment". before the elction they said they will promote scholarships for merit students again. education means scholarship project and entertainment means local cultural programs. like someone mentioned madhu has no control over website/committee and he put the same punch line but why? then where is the tama scholarship ceremoney? if you don't want to work on important projects that is fine then you need to change the punch line. this was started in tama 25th year and continued for 4 years.
ramesh announced on the tama stage that he will go to india to complete 2007 scholarships but he did not go. he want to save his travel expenses but he did not realize balayya has to go with his personal expenses for 2 years. ramesh reminds me tv9 kishore das 'evari gola varidi'. he always laughs and puts responsibility on others. all hiscommittee members konws that he is lazy guy. sridevi is better than ramesh when it comes to scholarship project.
vijay has to answer one question. why vibha send money through TANA instead of sending directly through vibha. also he don't need his brother. this is not family business all should work. if it is non profit organization how many years one will stay in positions. i see the brothers are there forever. all others are volunteers.

If so how come Congress won 33 MP seats but won bare majority in assembly. Thanks to Manmohan ji & Madams leadership, Congress managed to retain the state barely.
If there is so much support to YSR, why can't Jagan get out of Congress & float his own party. Chiranjeevi has more guts than these monkeys. He won 18 seats with his own party & name.
If YSR & co, can win seats in double digits with their own party & name, then we can discuss more about YSR.

When yellow party was formed & won the elections, YSR was no where.
Now YSR is no more, but yellow party is still here. People like YSR come & go.

What is the difference between Raja Reddy,Ranga,Paritala,YSR and Jagan?
I see no difference.All are murderers in their own capacity.
Raja Reddy- A local rowdy who ran groups and murdered his opponents.Never grew politically as he spent his life killing people for grooming YSR.
Was killed by his opponents.
Ranga- A street rowdy who grew to become an MLA. Wanted to hide under the Umbrella of a caste and failed
Murdered in the hands of his opponents.
Paritala- A factionist who opposed his opponents and was involved in murdering his opponents.Grew to become a state level minister but finally died at the hands of his opponents.
YSR-A factionist who murdered innocent people in hyd riots to become CM.Later became CM.
Nature took care of him to protect Dharma as innocent people cannot kill him.

satyanarayana and his thottigang don't have common sense. they are the one who invited so many people to the stages last year andgave bouquets. they are the one who have invited purnayya, sambayya, tatayya and others during ghantasala aradhanotsavalu and batukamma panduga to the stage. also 2009 ec gave recognition to their own executive committee inspiteof issues in the committee year long. they have suspended anand's application and week later they gave him recognition. only tuglaks will do this kind of manipulations.he is the one gave life time to mangaraj though there are so many people ahead of him. infact mangaraj is more close to chand then others. on what basis he is criticizing 2010 ec for recognitions. if the issue with 2010 ec only recognitions they are the big fools.
gurvayya just because thottigang put you front it does not mean any thing. if you are are in trouble they are the first people to laugh at you. that is the reason you were opposite thottigang during the elections. no one knows what you are today? if the new association comes community will think you are the wost virus in community.

I did not attend the meeting but I can tell the reasons behind starting second organization.
madhu has less control on TAMA. he is being managed by people who helped him ti win the last elections. If he is left alone he is a decent gentleman. He is pretty much like his prajarajyam party. he don't know who is working in his exective committee and who has left the executive committee. for example if he coordinates with website coordinator he won't let the belove mistakes happen.
mistake1: make the website yellow. people can justify and say it is just coincidence nothing to do with polictical party. let's goto the second mishtake.

mistake3: why treasurer left the committee? if he cannot manage 9 member committe why he needs more members and advisory board. why it happened to reddy why not to others? madhu has the responsibility to address thge community for reasons behind. if this is rumor then he has to tell that as well.
mistake4: why ravi already said he can not continue next year? madhu's supporters already planned to bring a guy from k gang to put for next year president. that means no one from current committee is not ready is ravi don't want to become president?
whenever chaand involves in elections he does his best to win that team come to power but that team never stood upto the expectations. he went against ranga ravu and supported padma latha. what happened after that? phani and venkat left the committee. history repeats. he went against satyanarayana and supported madhu. this time alwal left the committee.
when there is election you can not expect community from all sides to represent tama functions. this could be due to many reasons. at least madhu should tell his committee to treat who ever attend should be treated well. but in GBM they have humiliated the people who want to talk neutral.
now the satyanarayana, tanuja and others have not only lost the elections but also not getting any importance and thought of having their own association. that is fine and we don't see any issue with that. if they really want they should come openly and declare their names. if people like satyanarayana, tanuja and gireesham want to start the association with the help of gowtham, karnayya that is fine and they should go ahead and start. why they have to pick a scapegoat like satya kirrnati. he is a big time fan of NTR and SVR. Also he married a non telugu girl who can hardly speak telugu. hardcore R's never become NTR fans and hard core K's will never become YSR fans. if the so called R gang have guts they should not put the innocent kirrnati upfront.
