తెలంగానం కృష్ణార్పణం -- ఇదీ చిదంబర రహస్యం

Srikrishna panel only for consultations?
Union Home Minister P Chidambaram has stuck to his word by announcing the much-publicised committee on deciding the fate of “Andhra Pradesh” on Wednesday morning.

The members of this committee are

(1) Shri Justice B N Srikrishna, retired Judge, Supreme Court of India - Chairman

(2) Prof (Dr) Ranbir Singh, Vice Chancellor, National Law University, Delhi - Member

(3) Dr Abusaleh Shariff, Senior Research Fellow, International Food Policy Research Institute, Delhi - Member

(4) Dr (Ms) Ravinder Kaur, Professor, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT, Delhi - Member

(5) Shri Vinod K Duggal, IAS (Retd), former Home Secretary - Member Secretary

The academics are experts in various fields and Duggal had a vast experience in various ministries.

So far so good. But what is confusing in the committee is that it does not mention whether the committee will look into the problems arising out of the bifurcation of the state and suggest remedies for the same or is just confined to holding consultations with various stakeholders and submit a report to the government. Going by the press release from the Home Ministry, it is meant to hold wide-ranging consultations with all sections of the people and all political parties and groups in Andhra Pradesh on the prevailing situation.

However, it also says the committee has been constituted in pursuance of statements made by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on December 9, 2009 and December 23, 2009 and the meeting he held with the eight recognised political parties of Andhra Pradesh on January 5, 2010. “In all these statements, Chidambaram specifically talked about the Telangana state formation. So, there is no need to specifically mention about Telangana in the press release,” a Telangana leader interpreted.

Anyway, the clouds will be cleared once the Committee finalises the terms of reference, which are now being drafted.

No accountability for Srikrishna panel
The appointment of Justice Srikrishna Committee is yet another step towards solving the Telangana imbroglio, but one doubts the authenticity of the committee.

The committee, according to reports from Delhi, was constituted only through an executive order from the Union Home Ministry. So, it is not a judicial commission formed under the Commisisoner of Inquries Act of Parliament nor is it an empowered committee of the supreme court. As such, it does not submit its report to Parliament or Supreme Court. Thus, it is not legally binding.

There was a talk that the committee would be constituted by the State Cabinet, after discussing it in the Cabinet Committee of Parliamentary Affairs, which is to meet on February 4. But before that, it happened. Now, the Telangna leaders are wondering it has any legal sanctity.

I completely agree. It is time every Telugu person start thinking about PROGRESS for our beloved state. Time to start thinking about the real issues facing underdeveloped areas in our state. Time for all Telugu well wishers to enter useful and constructive dialogue with one another and save our state from disintegrating.. Lets not hurt ourselves and in the meantime help Chennai and Karnataka gain at our cost... Time to unite...Time to put our state back on the path of PROGRESS...

Before they devide, (on a lighter note) Chidamabram should devide Tamailnadu into North and South Tamilnadu. Veerappa Maily should devide Karnataka into North Karnataka and Mysore. And Sonia Gandhi should devide Italy in to Italy and Sicily. Why are they after AP, when they want their heritage to be intact? And as for Nara Babu, just be a man. We do not need kojjas.

If they want to approach this big issue properly, then they should constitute second SRC and devide the whole country in to say 48-52 states. Kerala stays one. Tamilnadu, Andhra, Karnataka, Maharastra and Madhyapradesh can be devided in to say 12 states. Telangana (nine districts), Greater Rayalaseema (eight districts inclding Ballary, Raichur and Ongole, Nellore), Andhra from Srikakulam to Guntur. When you want to do it, do it right. Let's take enough time, think clearly, and split the country one more time. Let's be logical. Not on some fake KCR deeksha.

//YS Jagan’s Assurance To Hero Raja:

He is known as the first multiplex hero of the Telugu circuit and true to his title, only his first movie and a movie after that were a hit. Later on, everything he did was a flop. He is none other than the handsome hero Raja but here is something interesting about this actor that many may not know about.

It seems that Raja has been nursing an ambition to become a politician and has tried hard for the Congress ticket during the elections. Politics is said to be his interest and somehow, Raja also happens to be close to Y S Jagan. So now, he is doing his best to seek a breakthrough here.

It is heard that Jagan has given assurance that he would do whatever he can to get a ticket to Raja. This would be mostly for the 2014 elections but then, many say that if Raja is keen on becoming a politician, he must first get into some public service acts to let them know about his ideals. Else it would turn out to be just like his movie career. //

Veediki dikku ledu kaani, veedu inkokadiki Assurance ivvadamaa? "G" tho navvutaaru.

CBN blocked Telangana like great wall when BJP was in power. Remind you, BJP is committed to Telangana now and then. YSR started Telangana issue to bring CBN down. He believed CBN is invincible and he was running out of options at that time and encouraged Telangana Congress leaders to rake the issue.

YSR came to power and slightened and suppressed the issue with the help of the high command. To his credit, he blocked it like a rock when he was at the helm. But it needs to be pointed out that he is to be blamed(atleast partly) for raking the T issue to grab the reins. After all he is a politician and acted like one.

Chiranjeevi was foolish enough(as always) to come out and support united AP. His party split and disappeared in Telangana. Thank god, he is not a major player in the state and I think he never will be. If CBN takes a stand one way or the other, then TDP would split aswell. Too many small time players would evolve and it will be difficult to control them. That would create a major political crisis and would worsen the situation for the party as well as the state. CBN is a smarter than ordinary Joe and realised the bigger picture and was sensible enough not to let that happen

CBN is a POLITICIAN as well as ADMINISTRATOR and he deserves credit for forseeing and stabilizing the political situation.

As PV Narasimha rao(one of the all time greats(personal)) once said -- Not to take a decision on a issue itself is a decision.

I thought KCR reignited Telangana while Chandra Babu was the CM. TRS won two ZPs and several local bodies. Chandra Babu did not have foresight to stall KCR or TRS.
