Dear Chand Garu,

I'm appalled at your continued demands for TAMA EC members to resign and withdraw from contests which could be construed as intimidation. My earlier response was intended to protest your inaccurate quote attributed to the Honorable Judge. From your email, it is very evident that your attorney is also not willing to comment on the quote you attributed to the Hon'ble Judge, which proves my point.

This year I've done my best as vice president - worked as a team player, when faced with difficult situation like addressing grievence notice, I got advice from community elders and past presidents and followed it in letter and spirit. Thus, you may see, my deeds are a proof that I respect our Past Presidents immensely. I worked hard in getting 25 + life members (as a team 68 Life members), conducted mahila sadassu, planned and participated in palleku podam, apart from continuing many good programs initiated by previous committees.

As a working mother of two kids and a person passionate about community service, with proven credentials, I strongly feel that I've qualifications, skills and experience to serve as President of TAMA.

Once again, I don't believe in personal attacks and I'm assuring you that our team will take your personal attack constructively. I, respectfully, disagree with your opinion of my capabilities to lead, if elected, as President of TAMA in 2010. I'm confident, all those hundreds of community members who attended and enjoyed TAMA events in 2009 and had an opportunity to see me in action, would definitely believe in my leadership capabilities. It is their opinion that I value and cherish the most.

Respectfully,
Tanuja Puvvada

Dear Tanuja garu,

Your email to TAMA members depicting me as a liar was in poor taste. You neither have the knowledge of US legal system nor the respect to members/life members of TAMA. By parading a team of 30 people, at the court, comprising of family members, contestants and supporters, you can't overturn the mistakes. Unfortunately, your team doesn't get it even now.

TAMA can't afford to elect you as the President with your deep involvement in the current EC, lack of experience, inability to check the truth and utter disrespect to a Life member/Past President.

May I request you to step down immediately as a candidate for the President's position? It will save TAMA the agony of election hostilities in 2010.

We all can work to build a United TAMA to leave a permanent legacy for future generations.

Regards,
Chand Akkineni

Chand- This is all nonsense. The lawsuit and arguments were very clear that TAMA's officers did not follow the bylaws in conducting membership and election for 2009. Before the hearing, both attorneys agreed the election should be postponed and membership reopened to correct the mistakes. However the executive officers refused to reopen nominations. That is why the hearing went ahead. I will not try to quote the Judge, but he was annoyed that this issue caused the hearing. It was not caused by you or me. When he heard how nominations were rejected after the deadline, the Judge became very upset. He agreed the EC had not followed the bylaws properly. The issue of intent did not come up at this hearing. He wanted strict compliance with the bylaws and the opportunity for everyone to be nominated and to vote fairly.

The law is clear that if a nonprofit association does not properly follow its bylaws, a Superior Court Judge can intervene as happened here. We wrote a letter demanding correction and compliance which was denied by Ted Lackland. At your request it ended as follows:

“Please advise us within ten (10) days as to the actions you intend to take concerning the above before my client considers further legal action. It is his hope to resolve the issues amicably within the bylaws of TAMA without outside interference.”

The EC gave us no choice but to submit the matter to the Judge, who immediately stopped the election after reading the Bylaws and e-mails of the EC.

I hope this answers any confusion.

Dear XXXX,

Here is the truth in Mr. Chand Akkineni 's lies:

Mr.Akkineni attributed a quote to the Judge Timothy 's order which is no where to be found. You may verify the same from the court order posted on TAMA web site. In fact during the hearing, the Hon'ble Judge chided the plaintiffs (Mr. Chand Akkineni ) stating that "Shame on you, Shame on you" for dragging a non-profit community organization into a court room and thus wasting Court's valuable time.

Below is the email from TAMA's attorney on Judge's comment:

Dr. Reddy:

I was in the courtroom during the hearing, I met with the judge in his chambers, and I have a copy of his order. He never made any comments such as those attributed to him by Mr. Akkineni. The Judge did not take sides and did not criticize TAMA's Executive Committee in anyway. He certainly did not say that TAMA “broke” the bylaws. In fact he stated that it was clear that if any mistakes were made, they were not intentional. I am sure Mr. Van Gelderen, Mr. Akkineni's attorney, will concur with my recollection. In short the comment attributed to the Judge is a lie and should not be believed by anyone.

Ted Lackland

“The executive committee broke the bylaws. They should have bent backwards to rectify the mistakes. I am reopening the membership drive and nomination process” – Hon. R. Timothy Hamil, Judge Superior Court, Gwinnett County on Tuesday November 10, 2009 supporting my petition.

Guys this lady was laughing in the court she wanted to take pictures of herself in the court. Either she does not understand the meaning of being a "defendant" or she does not care for TAMA's constitution. Or she is used to going to courts.

Mrs. Puvvada garu,

Did you pay last year membership yourself?

It seems that you promised someone life membership if they deliver 30 votes.

How far will you go madam?
