TAMA was formed mainly to preserve, maintain, and perpetuate the cultural heritage of Telugu people in Metro Atlanta; to assist, propagate, and advance cultural, literary, educational, arts, social, economic, health, and community affairs of Telugu people in Metro Atlanta; and to organize meetings to promote local talent as well as to present Telugu scholars and artists in Atlanta. TAMA General Body determines the basic philosophy and policies of the organization and is empowered to amend our Bylaws.

The current Executive Committee ignored the rights of the General Body and amended the Bylaws without following the proper procedures. They illegally removed the voting rights of the members and refused to reinstate their rights until a legal intervention by a Court.

Our team vows to protect the rights of the members and value their input in running our organization. We will take our beloved organization back to its original values and implement programs that address the needs and desires of the Metro Atlanta Telugu community.

We formed a team with service-oriented individuals with diverse backgrounds that are proud to represent the Telugu community. All members of the team have ideas and they will actively participate in formulating the plans and programs for TAMA in 2010. They understand and subscribe to the basic principles and values of TAMA. We will only plan and conduct programs that address the needs and desires of the Metro Atlanta Telugu community.

You have a clear choice between a team that doesn't respect the members' rights and a team that will be true to the basic values and principles of TAMA. Please take time to vote for our team in the elections today so that we could steer TAMA in the right direction for the future.
